Reaching Out to Parents of Micro-Preemie Babies

MagicKitchen.com partners with Graham’s Foundation

Los Altos, CA - (June TK, 2009) - MagicKitchen.com has long recognized the challenges new parents face to get nutritious, tasty meals on the table with ease while caring for their newborn baby. Now they’ve partnered with Graham’s Foundation, a charitable foundation for parents of micro-preemie babies, to offer even greater support to a niche population of new parents

The founders of Graham’s Foundation, Nick and Jennifer Hall, know firsthand the roller coaster ride of emotions and challenges that having and raising a preemie baby bring; they experienced the struggles themselves when their twins Graham and Reece were born at just 25 weeks gestation. Reece survived after 4 months in the Neonatal Care Unit but the couple lost Graham after just 45 days. Today, the foundation that carries his namesake seeks to ease the burdens of parents of micro-preemies by providing care packages that offer practical and emotional support during parents stays at the NICU.

As their foundation expanded, the Hall’s searched for a way to provide these parents with access to tasty nutritious meals. “As parents that went through a four month journey with our daughter in the neo-intensive care unit, we are fully aware of the impact to the health and well-being of the parents.  MagicKitchen.com delivers exactly what these parents need, a healthy, nutritious meal.  We are both thrilled and incredibly grateful for their level of commitment,” says Nick Hall, President of Graham’s Foundation.

When MagicKitchen.com learned of this need, they generously offered to support the cause with donations that go into each package Graham’s Foundation sends out. “As a company, we’ve always looked for ways to give back to various communities. Partnering with the Graham’s Foundation gives us an opportunity to support new parents and provide access to healthy, nutritious meals while they are facing a difficult situation in their lives,” says Michelle Tayler, President of MagicKitchen.com.

Package recipients can use a gift certificate to purchase fortifying entrees  like Pesto Lasagna with Red & White Sauce and healthful, sophisticated sides like Beets with Feta Cheese. New parents will especially appreciate the meal bundles options such as a Comfort Food package that includes Chicken Pot Pie and Potato & Cheese Pierogies. And, most importantly, the new parents will no longer worry about finding time for meal time preparation. Thanks to Graham’s Foundation and MagicKitchen.com, they’ll eat well and have time to spend with their new baby.

About Graham’s Foundation - Graham’s Foundation provides care packages designed for the needs of parents of micro-preemie babies.  Founded in 2009 by Nick and Jennifer Hall, they experienced the roller-coaster ride of being parents in the neo-intensive care unit, losing their son Graham after 45 days and their daughter Reece’s four-month stay.  Graham’s Foundation is committed to providing good and services that are both practical and inspirational for parents of micro-preemies babies.  For more information visit www.GrahamsFoundation.org

Recreating Family Dinner

Celebrate Eat Better, Eat Together month with MagicKitchen.com

Los Altos, CA – (October 13, 2008) – With such busy lifestyles, it’s a rare evening that American families have an opportunity to sit down together, indulge in a delicious and nutritious meal, and a leisurely conversation about their days.

MagicKitchen.com has long known the importance of this family ritual and also the challenges to getting a meal on the table. This is precisely why their meal plans are designed to provide chef-prepared frozen meals for time-strapped families. “For parents who are too busy to shop or cook regularly, MagicKitchen.com’s healthy, delicious meals and meal bundles include a wide selection of soups, entrees, sides, and desserts to choose from. Parents are able to heat and serve a nutritious family dinner with ease, and still have time to enjoy quality time together and enjoy their children’s company,” says Greg Miller, CEO of MagicKitchen.com.

In honor of National Eat Better, Eat Together month, MagicKitchen.com is reminding Americans of their service and the many ways it assists clients who are committed to eating better and together as a family. Studies show that families who make this commitment will reap multiple benefits. Children whose families eat together do better in school, have fewer behavioral problems, show improved communication skills, and – most importantly - start creating family traditions surrounding their favorite meals.

Time-strapped parents who source their meals from MagicKitchen.com will quickly discover how easy it is to get a healthful meal, such as a Lemon Pepper Chicken Breast and healthy sides, on the table in time for dinner. They’ll also appreciate the ways the service introduces their children to new or beloved foods, like MagicKitchen’s Broccoli and Cauliflower with Cheese Sauce or classic Chicken Pot Pie. And most importantly, MagicKitchen.com clients will gain back valuable time with their families and renew the ritual of eating together, a practice that has been a guiding principle for the company from day one.

Previously, Independent Living Systems focused their business on selling their meals and programs exclusively to the healthcare sector. The new agreement maintains that the company will distribute their full line of healthy meals to MagicKitchen.com for sale to the public sector as well.

The meals will be added to an existing lineup of healthy, nutritious meals that Northern California based MagicKitchen.com sells online and through their call center. Our agreement with Independent Living Systems is very exciting as it opens more avenues to assist our core customer base with their meals,” says Michelle Tayler, President of MagicKitchen.com.

These new, healthy meal offerings were specifically designed by Independent Living System’s in-house nutritionists for diabetic diets, low sodium and low sugar (carbohydrate) diets, patients with congestive heart failure, and individuals who struggle to maintain a healthy diet and weight. “We have had great success with this meal program and we have a 96% plus satisfaction rating with the meals in this program,” says chairman and CEO of Independent Living Systems LLC, Nestor Plana.

MagicKitchen.com Announces Expanded Fundraising Opportunities for Schools, Churches and Teams

MagicKitchen.com today announced a much expanded program for fundraising opportunities for Fall 2008.  “This new program offers not only the ability to generate significant funds through personal meal purchases and meal gifts purchased for your friends and family, but also any purchases made by your friends and family anywhere in the United States.  All these people can now be a part of your organization’s fundraising efforts through their meal purchases and their meal gifts for others.” said Greg Miller, CEO of MagicKitchen.com.  “Any purchases made through our website www.MagicKitchen.com or via our toll free customer service lines (877-516-2442) qualify for fundraising for any registered organization.”

Full details of the MagicKitchen.com Fundraising Program are available at http://www.magickitchen.com/fundraising.html.  MagicKitchen.com has actively been involved with fundraising programs since the company was formed in 2005.   Gift Certificates from MagicKitchen.com or meal bundles presented at fundraising actions have in the past been a sought after choice of auction-goers.  With these new terms of the MagicKitchen.com Fundraising Program, an organization can potentially generate endless funds.  You can recruit as many people as you want to be a part of the fundraising efforts and the good news is “They all eat every day so they may as well purchase meals or food gifts that will help their favorite organization.  Especially when the economy is tight, people are sometimes not as generous as they could be when times are good.  The nice part about the MagicKitchen.com fundraising program is that it offers fundraising on an everyday expense that everyone has.  Typically food expenses are one of the larger expenses a family has each month.” said Mr. Miller.

Product Review: MagicKitchen.com chef-prepared meal delivery

May 26th, 2008

Product Review - MagicKitchen.com
5.26.08
Products: Vegetables en Croute, Chicken Pot Pie, Almond Crusted Salmon, Fresh Cut Corn Medley, Saffron Rice, Cheesy Broccoli and Cauliflower, Hickory Smoked Ham, Panna Cotta, Bada Bing Cherry Bread Pudding, Double Fudge Brownies.

What is MagicKitchen.com? MagicKitchen.com provides chef-prepared, gourmet meals frozen and delivered to your door nationwide. Located in the San Francisco Bay area, MagicKitchen.com makes a great gift, or an easy way to enjoy a chef prepared gourmet meal without the hassle.

Packaging/Labeling: MagicKitchen.com’s products showed up in a neatly packaged dry ice container via second day air. The products were all frozen solid and perfectly in-tact. Each of the individual items is packaged in a vacuum-sealed disposable tray which made for easy preparation and disposal.

Considering these items are ready-to-serve, and shipped frozen, we were very impressed with the packaging and presentation. Heating and serving instructions are clearly printed on each item’s package along with nutritional and ingredient statements.

Taste/Consistency/Quality: MagicKitchen.com hits a home run with a delectable variety of meals that truly taste like you are dining at a high-end restaurant in the comfort of your home or office. Our favorite was definitely the vegetables en croute, which was obviously hand-crafted by a skilled chef. One would expect that the quality of such products would be diminished from being frozen and shipped, but each item tasted very fresh and full of flavor. We assumed that the products were made the same day they are shipped (at least they tasted that way).

One of the first things we thought when preparing some of the dishes was that some seemed very simple and could be made at home quite easily. Case-in-point, the fresh cut corn medley and chicken pot pie - which most people can find in the frozen section. However, MagicKitchen.com’s versions are not your average, run-of-the-mill products found in the frozen section. Each item is hand-made by an actual chef, and no corners are cut. The chicken pot pie was perfect - flaky and buttery crust filled with moist chicken and fresh veggies covered in a perfectly flavored sauce. We all agreed that it would be tough to match this kind of quality and presentation at home - even with hours of preparation.

Desserts: If you haven’t had Panna Cotta, you are missing out. If you haven’t had MagicKitchen’s Panna Cotta, hop online and order some now! Made with the perfect firm consistency and delicious tart raspberry sauce, this is an item that we would order by itself just for a special dessert. It’s so good that MagicKitchen.com could probably make a decent business out of just selling nothing but panna cotta online. If you’ve ever tried making Panna Cotta, you know that it isn’t easy. With MagicKitchen, it’s as easy as simply letting the Panna Cotta thaw out for an hour, then serving. We also had the bada bing cherry bread pudding and double fudge brownie, which were surprisingly rich, moist, and fresh. Sure, brownies are easy enough to make at home, but the idea with MagicKitchen.com is to make it even easier for busy parents, senior citizens, or as a gift - without skimping on quality. Bread pudding can be a simple dish for some to make, but all we had to do to enjoy this gourmet dessert was let it thaw out and/or microwave. It doesn’t get any easier than this, and you don’t have to worry how it will turn out with MagicKitchen.com’s products - which were perfect.

Uniqueness: When we first heard of this new, rapidly growing business (selling chef-prepared frozen meals online), we were skeptical. It sounded expensive, logistically difficult, and probably not something that appealed to many people. Boy, were we wrong! MagicKitchen.com offers such a truly unique service with so many potential customers. Not only are their products priced very reasonably (especially if you compare to eating at a restaurant), but they have figured out the logistics of freezing and shipping products to a science. Consider the ways MagicKitchen.com’s products make sense to purchase:

1. Your friend or family member just had a baby and you can’t be there with them to help. Surely, they are not feeling like preparing a meal or going out for one. What do you? Send them a chef-prepared meal from MagicKitchen.com! Now, your friend/family member doesn’t have to do anything other than simply heat and serve an already-prepared meal that was delivered to your door!

2. You are a senior citizen that doesn’t have the energy or desire to create a full course meal, but would like to enjoy a nice, gourmet meal without the hassle/mess or going out to a restaurant. Now, all you have to do is simply hop online or call MagicKitchen.com to order a meal plan customized to your tastes. Within 2 days, your chef-prepared gourmet meals will arrive at your door, and you can have weeks of ready-to-eat meals! Oh, and don’t worry about the mess. All you have to do is throw away the containers!

3. You are a busy working parent that doesn’t have the time or energy to come home and prepare a home-cooked meal (and pizza/takeout gets old really fast!). Now, you can give your family a delectable, chef-prepared meal that doesn’t require hours of preparation and cleanup. Simply order a meal (or meal plan) from MagicKitchen.com and have a family meal ready to eat in minutes!

Summary: MagicKitchen.com really delivers (no pun intended) when it comes to simplifying your busy life by offering a quick and easy solution to eating well at the comfort of your home. When compared to dining out, it is very reasonably priced (even with shipping) without sacrificing quality. Overall, we feel that MagicKitchen.com really stands out as an excellent option for a unique gift that anyone can appreciate.

How to purchase: Consumers can order directly online at www.MagicKitchen.com, or by calling 877-516-2442.
