 Management and Review Panel:
Brooks Hamaker, VP Customer and Public Relations
Brooks is a well known food writer with a strong background in the food and beverage worlds on many levels. He has been, and continues to be published, in some of the most important food resources in the country, including The New York Times, Chile Pepper, Garden and Gun, and a number of other periodicals in the US. He was one of the guiding forces behind the early success of the South’s largest new brewery, Abita Beer, and was also involved in many other beverage related projects around the US, Mexico, Ireland, and Hong Kong. Beyond that he is an accomplished chef, having run the largest kitchen in Louisiana after he got out of college and having been involved in many restaurant start ups over the year as either a manager or management consultant.
On the internet level, Brooks was one of the early leaders on eGullet, a comprehensive website concerning all things food that has become an important guiding light in the new world of food information on the web. He also worked for a number of years for GourmetFoodMall.com, one of the original purveyors of high end food on the internet and, during that time, had a great deal of success in guiding clients to new levels of recognition and sales by specializing in grass roots publicity for their products and services.
